Spring Fayre, Sunday May 15th - a message from our friends at the Wandsworth Bridge Road Association
The WBR Spring Fayre is now two weeks away!! We hope you are as excited about this event as we are and that you and your families and friends are all lined up to attend our first ever full street closure event.
We have over 70 stalls, 5 hours of live music from amazing professional musicians, a maypole and fiddler, free children's activities in a dedicated space (football, yoga, dance, games) and lots of traditional fairground games for everyone to enjoy.
We need help - On the day and NOW over the next week.
Can anyone spare us up to 10 hours over the next week to do some PR? While we have already done some advertising, we now have a press release & press images ready - we need someone to identify media, magazines, journals, online listing sites, etc to contact them and to publicise the event.
We are hoping to attract 5000 to 10000 people on the day to really create a buzz - so advertising is key.
If you are able to give us some of your time please email info@wbrassociation.org.ukOn the day - it's all hands on deck! We have 2.5 hours to set up the whole street (7.00 - 9.30 am, before the businesses arrive to set up their goods) and at the end of the day 2 hours to tidy it up! This will only be achievable if we have the manpower.
We have very specific tasks we need help with:
Morning:
All Equipment will be stored in the Vicarage car park behind Caffe Nero on Clancarty and will need to be moved to various places along the Fayre:
- 15 picnic benches
- 21 Straw Hay Bales
- Move and erect picket fencing around the children's games area
- Help Jonathan with laying out astro turf
- Help layout signage
- Help place bins, fencing and erect 2x gazebos
During the Fayre:
- 2 to 3 people to help with litter picking 3 to 4 time during the day.
- 2 or 3 stewards to help direct people
After the event:
- Help move all of the above items back to the vicarage car park
- Help ensure stall holders have completely cleaned their stalls and their rubbish is placed in the designated bins
- Help remove any stray bits of rubbish from the street
If you can help with any of the above tasks please pop your details HERE, or send us an email to info@wbrassociation.org.uk
If you have friends and neighbours who you think might also be willing to lend a hand please pass this on! We really do need as many helpers as possible!
We look forward to seeing as many people from the community as possible on the 15th and many thanks in advance for your help and support!
Best wishes,
Gary
